I went to Sprouts as I bought a Gap dress from there a year ago for $15 and thought there prices were better for selling rather than buying. I was in a situation that I only had two months until I left the country and I gave them numerous bags of baby & maternity clothes and equipment to sell and they seems confident that they could do this in the time scale I had. After five weeks of having the items I had not heard from them and so I called to see how things were going: they had sold a 5mth old $200 stroller and I got $20 and other well priced items for next to nothing and they had seemingly lost the rest of the items and had not even put the baby clothes on shop floor? When I finally got through to the manager she was very rude to me and told me that they had 99 other customers and I was not a priority and if I wanted to pick up the one bag of cloths they had left of mine I could. This left me in an awful situation as my travel plans could not be changed due to there late change of decision. They then went through my cloths pointing out that they were now not good enough for there shop even though they had thoroughly gone through them when I had first gone in and proudly gave them back to me in a tatty old JC Penny bag. (BIG INSULT) One of the items was the Gap maternity dress I brought from them exactly a year before? I now only have a few weeks left in the country and a lot of clothes and equipment to sell and am extremely upset with there business technique! I then went to the consignment store in Springfield who do not charge to sell unlike Sprouts but as there is so little time they can not help me unless i have a friend ship the money to me costing $35 so I am now left with large amounts of cloths and equipment and a bad taste in my mouth from the whole experience. Their contract does not allow you to discuss a reasonable price for your goods and permits them loose anything they feel fit to suddenly disappear. I would urge anybody to use the consignment store in Springfield rather than Sprouts, and to list down exactly what you leave with them. It amazes me how these cowboys can get away with this kind of business!
